Join the City of Salisbury's Poet Laureate, Nancy Mitchell for live readings on Zoom with local and national poets in celebration of Black History Month. This last edition is a Poetry Slam featuring local poets; Amber Green and Sharnell "Sista Big" Tull, along with James Coats, poet and spoken word artist from L.A., Claifornia and Wallace Lane from Baltimore City, MD.

James Coats is an author, poet and spoken word artist from Southern California.. You can find him attending poetry readings throughout California and now on Zoom or sharing his work via his Instagram @MrLovingWords.

Wallace Lane is a poet, writer, and author from Baltimore, Maryland. His poetry has appeared in Little Patuxent Review, The Avenue, Welter and is forthcoming in several literary journals. Jordan Year, his debut collection of poetry, was released in May 2017. Wallace also works as an English and Creative Writing teacher with Baltimore City Public Schools.

Sharnell “Sista Big” Tull is a poet and visual artist raised in Pocomoke City, Md. She hosts a monthly open mic in junction with Pocomoke Public Library and is affiliated with the Crisfield Arts and Entertainment District. She may also be found delivering spoken work on WBYC radio station in Crisfield, Md.

Amber Green has served as a Youth Development Specialist for the City of Salisbury, sits on both the Youth Development Advisory Committee and Human Rights Advisory Committee, and is Founder and Executive Director of Fenix Youth Project Inc., a creative arts youth development non-profit organization focused on empowering youth to make social change while using art as a tool.
